Join us in this three-part series, where you will receive hands-on instruction in the science and craft of various cocktail mixers and ingredients, including Sweet Farm's very own probiotic Ginger Beer. We have teamed up with local artisans, Charlie Berkinshaw of Element Shrub, Eric Kozlik of Modern Barcart (maker of Embitterment Bitters), and Braeden Bumpers and Tyler Hegamyer of McClintock Distilling, to teach you the history and science behind mixers like bitters, shrubs, ginger beer and spirits. You'll also get the opportunity to make your own mixers and learn how to use these ingredients in well-constructed craft cocktails (yes, there will be samples!). This series will be taught over the course of 3 Monday nights in October: the 16th, 23rd and 30th.
Parts 1 & 2 of this class will take place at FCC's Monroe Center where you will learn to make your own bitters, shrubs, and lightly fermented ginger beer and sodas.
Part 3 will take place at McClintock Distilling, one of Frederick's exciting new distilleries, where you'll reap the fruits of your labor with a cocktail demo and sampling!
