Fall Sauce

1 1/2oz Ruby Red Grapefruit Moonshine (@belleisleshine)
1oz Pear water*
3/4oz Grapefruit Vanilla Element Shrub
Several dashes of Orange Spice Root Bitters

Add ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake and strain over new ice. Garnish with a grapefruit twist (optionally wrapped around a whole vanilla bean).

This drink is really well balanced and the spice notes from the bitters really pull it all together.

*Ok so "pear water"... One of the things I love making in the fall is homemade applesauce 🍎🍎 but we had some extra pears 🍐from our Chai Pear production so I made pearsauce instead. The "pear water" is the excess water that was left after food milling and straining the pearsauce.

To me this is really exciting for two reasons:

1. This "water" would have otherwise gone to waste.
2. We basically created a pear simple syrup without adding any sugar.
