1.5oz Zero Proof “Dark Rum"* (see recipe below)
0.75oz Chai Pear Shrub (@elementshrub)
0.5oz fresh grapefruit juice
0.5oz fresh lime juice
ZERO PROOF DARK RUM:
3/4 cup hot water
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup cane sugar
Mix all of the ingredients into glass and use a whisk to dissolve the sugar while the water is still hot. Let it cool.
Find your favorite tiki mug. I actually borrowed this from @megthebartender(thanks Meg!) who picked it up from @barproductscom.
Add all ingredients to a shaker and shake with ice. Garnish with a cinnamon bark camp fire.
This is one crazy, unique, complex drink. It is one of those drinks where it is equally weird but at the same time, you can't stop drinking it. Also, it oddly tastes very similar to this dried Chinese sour plum candy - but in a good way? I think?!
